Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog is officially back from vacation! We are ready to inspire you with a fun Valentine's challenge. I'm sure you have all heard people raving about the adorable little mailboxes you can find in the Target dollar spot. Well, that is our challenge. Show us how you have decorated mini mailboxes. Caution, this is a long post I wanted you to see all the different angles of the mailboxes the Design Team has created. Mr Linky is at the end for you to link your project.

The prize for this challenge will be a set of 2 acrylic blocks and various different rubber stamps on EZ Mount for all occasions.

If you can't find one at your Target, there are options, you can cut one from paper using the cricut Lovestruck cartridge like Stephanie did, or you can google and find a template to print out and use yourself. They also sell a little larger version at Michaels. I usually give these to my daughter's teachers and coaches each year full of candy, but I'm sure you guys can come up with some other clever uses for them.

Our next challenge will be to alter the little mini mailboxes that can be found in the dollar section of Target. If you can't find them at Target, you substitute any mailbox craft. The new cricut cartridge Lovestruck will cut a paper mini mailbox for you, so that is an option. So, find your mailboxes and get ready for a fun challenge in a few weeks!!!!

Christmas Home Decor

Our current challenge is to create a Christmas Home Decor object, something you could use to decorate your house, or give to someone else, to decorate for the holidays. The prize for this challenge will be some Cuttlebug items. Our design team has come up with some fabulous home decor items to get your creativity flowing.

Mindy- hurricane glasses made with candle holders and candle sticks from Dollar Tree glued together with E600 glue and filled with various holiday items

Mindy- Ribbon Tree- ribbon folded in half and pinned to a Styrofoam cone

Stephanie- adorable ornaments

Sheri- paper mache reindeer made by drizzling hot glue on a paper mache reindeer and then spray painting it gold.

Our current challenge is to create a project that features Thanksgiving Dinner in some way. You can use elements of Thanksgiving Dinner, pictures of Thanksgiving Dinner, recipes, whatever you have as long as it relates in some way to Thanksgiving Dinner. Here are the creations our fabulous Design Team has come us with and we would love to see what you have created. This challenge will run through Thanksgiving Day and our next challenge will be posted on Black Friday (after I'm back from hitting the sales of course). The prize for this challenge will be a 6 x 6 paper pack from Basic Grey- Eskimo Kisses. This paper pack can be seen here. It is fabulous like all their papers and will be excellent to use for Christmas cards.

Our next challenge here on Scrappy Frogs is to make a project of your choice with a frog on it. It only makes sense that since our name is Scrappy Frog, eventually we need to feature some frogs in our projects. Challenge #11 - Paper Piecing

This bi weekly challenge is PAPER PIECING!

There are so many great ways to do this...you can use your cricut or pazzles etc, you a pattern from online, use a coloring book page as a pattern, or design your own from scratch!

Here is paper piecing I did using the Pazzles...

This is a quick easy example...he can be put on a card, layout etc!

Challenge # 7--Arrrgh

We are trying something a little bit different this time here on Scrappy Frog. We wanted to see what everyone could come up with using the same exact background image. The image we have chosen is a digital one that can be downloaded for free (hey, the price is right!) from Dustin Pike. It is called Pirate Dragon Background click HERE to download the image. To participate in this challenge, you must use the provided Dustin Pike background in your project. If you are unfamiliar with digital stamps, they are actually very user friendly. You can open them in a photo editing software, paint, word, etc. and resize them to however small or large you need them to be. Then, print it out on your home printer and color away. I printed mine on neenah cardstock in my inkjet printer and colored with copics and the ink was perfect. Some people may find they need to let the ink set a little or even heat set with a heat gun to prevent bleeding. I think it all depends on the ink. So, dig deep and find your inner pirate and show us what you come up with. The prize for this challenge is a surprise, kind of like finding a hidden treasure- you don't know what it's going to be, but it's a treasure so you know it's going to be good! AHOY and start crafting!

Answering a Few Questions.....

I am getting alot of emails about how to submit a project. What you need to do is take some pictures of your project and either upload it to a free photo site like http://www.photobucket.com/ or post them on your blog. Once you do one of those go to the post here that says our first challenge and click to comment on the post and leave your link to the pictures there. That it and you will be entered into the contest!

Another Question is a few say they don't have any recipes to use....in this first challenge it can be anything food based like using a paper with cooking items or food on it, making a paper project like a little baggie with cookies in it with a tag...using your justrite food/recipe borders on a project...using SU stamps like the tart and tangy ones and do a fruity project....there are so many option on this...it does not have ot be just a recipe page if you don't want it to be!

*I ADDED ON A MR LINKY AS WELL SO YOU CAN LEAVE YOUR ENTRY THERE TOO *

We are going to have challenges every 2 weeks. You will have 10 days to get your submission posted and then in the next few days we will vote on the winner and post who won.
